Today we finished up the Treasure Hunt, guaranteeing that we will get to see the Daily Show (probably this week.) Here are pictures from today's outing.
A mime in the Times Square subway station.
View from the subway in Queens looking back on Manhattan.
Views of Shea Stadium. When we got off the subway here we saw the Mets team bus being escorted by police as they drove over to Yankee Stadium for the final game today of the Subway Series - the hottest ticket in town. To the right of the stadium I could see where the new stadium is being built.
The final landmark in our treasure hunt: the globes built for the 1964 World's Fair. They are even more impressive once you are underneath them looking up.
View of the Arthur Ashe stadium - home to the U.S. Open
The Queens Art Museum - with a huge scaled down model of New York City!
The exhibit on the 1964 World's Fair. I know the Wood family will appreciate that. One picture shows a diagram model of the setup for the fair.
The spaceships from Men In Black!
Visiting the Chinatown section of Queens. Queens is the most ethnically diverse county in the country.

I think you have already done twice as much as I did the entire time I was in New York!
Do not forget about Big Nick's Pizza at 77th & Broadway--open 24 hours.
One thing I never did that I wish I had was head down to Coney Island. And you should totally find someone to invite you out to their Hamptons summer house.
I'm enjoying the image of Brad and Angie in the welfare line. :)

Ah, the 1964 World's Fair. I looked forward to it for a whole winter. The TODAY show would feature new buildings as they were opening. By the time our family arrived in the summer of '64, I knew the entire layout of the fair grounds and was so proud that I could lead everyone to the Vatican and the Pieta, and the IBM Egg, and the (real) Belgian waffle house, and the animatronic Abraham Lincoln. And, yes, to the model of Manhattan island.
You're certainly getting a bite out of the Apple. One place I've always wanted to go but haven't ever made it to is The Cloisters. I think they're near your neighborhood as is The Church of St. John the Divine.
I'm sorry you missed Brad and Angelina, but I suppose they had to get home to the kids.
Stay safe.
Mike
